Anonymous asked: See, I've just recently started working out so I'm trying not to overextend myself. I've been increasing my time on the elliptical weekly. I.e. I started at 15 minutes and I'm starting 45 minutes tomorrow. I want to start running. My ultimate goal is to run a half marathon but I know I have to lose some body fat before I can tone up. I usually do 30 sets of the following: the ab machine, the leg curl and the leg extension, the bicep curl and the chest press

I personally feel physical running is way better than the elliptical. Try running for about 5-10 minutes tomorrow instead.

I think you meant 30 reps because 30 sets is body builder status. I wouldn’t suggest doing all those workouts in one gym session. I separate upper body and lower body workouts for different days. One thing that’s important is to not base your days in the gym by the week, meaning don’t set your schedule as Sun-Sat. Treat each day at the gym as an individual day as opposed to “It’s Tuesday, I’m going to work this out”. You can do chest, arms and abs one day, and the next day you can focus on legs and something else like shoulders or hips or whatever you wanna do. Then rest on the 3rd day to allow your body to recover, or depending on how you feel you can go back to the gym for the 3rd straight day and maybe just do cardio or whatever you’re up to working out on.

You’ll get the best results from free weights, machines don’t allow you much freedom.

And ab machines suck.

Anonymous asked: Ohh ok. Got it. What would you say is a good starting routine? For example, I usually go to the gym 4 days a week. 30 minutes on the elliptical and then 15 minutes of basic weight machines. Protein shake afterward. Good? Bad? Could be better? Sorry for treating you like a personal trainer.

Ehh 30 minutes on the elliptical is really not doing much, you’d have to be on there for at least an hour to burn some serious calories. You’re better off running for 10 minutes on a treadmill. What do you do in 15 minutes? That’s nearly not enough time for anything really. If I do cardio I usually do it for about 20 minutes and then lift for another 90 minutes or so. I don’t just work out one area a day, I usually target 2-3 different areas. You really shouldn’t take any protein shakes after this kind of workout because it’s really not going to do much. It’s best to take protein after intense workouts.

Going to the gym 4 times a week is good, but a routine depends on what you’re goal in the gym is. I’m not in the gym to gain massive amounts of muscle, I’m in there for a specific reason. If you give me your reason then I’d be able to help you more.

Anonymous asked: I meant crap food like the pizza and hot wings you posted. Maybe I went too far back. But hey, thanks for answering!

Oh ok, gotcha. Like I said once you create a good routine of food and exercise, you can afford to splurge on some junk food once in a while. But make sure to drink a lot of water when you are eating that junk food, it’ll help you digest faster and get rid of all that shit. Literally.

Anonymous asked: The fans make me hate the sixers. I can't stand them, all of them on the bandwagon and annoying as fuck.

I feel like you’ve messaged me before from the way you are talking about Philly fans.

But yeah, every city has fans like that.

Anonymous asked: You like the sixers? Or no because they're division rivals?

I don’t hate them. They used to be one of my favorite teams because I was a huge A.I. fan growing up. They’re a team that’s hard to hate because they’re all young and they play hard. There are no egos on that team.
